The Late Night Announcement
"The" EP that I was waiting for. I was so tired of having nothing fun to do in the after-hours for my Young Adult sims. The trailer had me ecstatic.

I tweaked the Logo. Yep, I'm that picky.

And just before the announcement I posted saying how I thought something really cool was coming.
UPDATE:
This thread was originally about how I thought we were on the edge of something major with the next EP, and that part of the thread is right behind this little update.
Wow, has EA ever delivered on my wishes for this game.
I am awed! 8)
This is exactly what I wanted.
Bad capture, but just look at it.
Oh, and Vampires. Rod Humble said they are expanding on vampires with bloodlines and other things. I can't wait to find out more.
First time the Sims ever gave me goosebumps. I'm excited.
Now to the old part of thread written before the Late Night announcement.

Anyone reaching back, trying to inject good ol' TS2 nostalgia into their game?
Some will say TS3 is already great and others will say it will never be, but I'm in the middle waiting for "whatever it is" that will take this game over the top. :) Whatever it is, it will be different from simmer to simmer, but for me it's still the social and entertainment life for the town. (Nightlife) So of course I'm hoping the After Dark rumor is true, and that it is a TS3 re-imagination of the Nightlife experience. I can't shake the feeling that the 3rd EP will turn the corner of awesomeness for The Sims 3. I've had this feeling since World Adventures came out. There is a chance I will be turning the corner of major disappointment instead, but I remain optimistic.
Create-a-style, traits, moodlets, and the seamless neighborhood are great features and have indeed killed my desire to play The Sims 2 despite its 8 EPs, but I have this desire to inject some TS2-ness into TS3. :P
So...I downloaded a TS2-styled house from modthesims that really set off the "I miss the Sims 2" feeling. It's Don Lotharios house.
(Unfortunately we don't have hot tubs to put on the lot)
(TS2)6 months ago, I went back to TS2 and played Don in his house.
Don had a run-in with Aliens in that TS2 session.
But...being limited to one lot at a time, not being able to coordinate colors and textures for objects, walls, floors, and clothing, being limited to more simplistic personalities and missing a host of other TS3 goodies, I returned to TS3.
(TS3)It made me inexplicably happy just to see it in TS3. Just odd, I kind of liked them in TS2, but not as much as having one in TS3.
And now I'm taking advantage of those TS3 goodies in making over Don's house. Melonie Bloom lives there and she is becoming an amorous legend to rival Don Lothario, romancing Sims in Twinbrook and France.
Cue CC, Sims 3 Store stuff, create-a-style customization, and I'm off. Don's house--TS3 style!
Just adding details and wishing some very missed objects were available.
Goodbye Coral floor and hello CASt created wood flooring.
I enjoyed playing around with colors and textures on this stuff. :)
I turned that very Egyptian looking table in the foreground into something more contemporary.
Melonie's design studio. I think the new interactive careers are great. I am interacting with so many sims now. Just think how interesting it will be with more interactions available from new EPs.
This house certainly stands out in Twinbrook.
I really like that little house. I really like what I can do with homes. I'm enjoying the game and feeling the improvements. The base game added some awesome features, World Adventures...some initial interest and then a falling off, but I got back into it after my sims worked their behinds off. They needed a break from working. Ambitions, I just think it great that we have so many career options, from hands off rabbit holes, to more time-flexible jobs, to interactive work place jobs like firefighting. Cool game, but not awesome for me yet. I think the 3rd time's the charm--very interested in what the next EP will bring to the game.
EA certainly must have had the first few EPs planned before simmer feedback about about the base game could be considered and implemented. Now they should have a good picture of what we want as a community and can inject that into the future they have planned for TS3. At least I hope that's the case. :)
So there is a peek at what is currently happening with me and the game, although there is a lot going on with several neighborhood saves. I still have to get back to Lisa Bunch.
