Well friends … By this time in our story, it could be safe for someone to assume.
Adele Winterly was genuinely concerned about Curtis slipping and landing back in trouble.
However …
If that person found themselves outside Varg’s Tavern on a certain afternoon,
It could actually become abundantly clear how long something had been brewing …
And exactly who could be flirting with the Devil and stomping on thin ice.

I’ve been helping Curtis around his place and things are coming along.
He’s got a new book deal and that’s coming along nicely as well.
I gave Carol her birthday present …
Curtis wrote a lovely note in it, and she was thrilled with the gift.
Heck, she kept carrying on about what good writer he was and everything.
