@rosemow, I love the idea! If I could make a suggestion, give parts of the story, but leave it open enough for people to make it theirs. For example, the room for the sick little girl was perfect - you gave us the basics of the story, and I loved reading all the different ways people took your outline and turned it into their story. So much fun!
It's kind of like giving a child a cardboard box. You have no idea what they'll make out of it, but you know it'll be interesting, creative, and based around a square with flaps. But even within those constraints, it might be a rocket ship, a race car, or even a doll house. :)
as an artteacher I love this consept,
give the Kids, a frame, some rulles, but still open for personal tutch, they Learn more, are happier and do better work.
