I have a few homosexual couples. The only "issue" is I have to make them take turns in the "male"/"female" role when dancing together. :P
To me, the best part about sims is that there really are no "male" and "female" roles. Anyone can lead and anyone can follow, whether the couple is same sex or different sex. Anyone can leap into anyone's arms, anyone can initiate, and so on.
I'm really not a dancer myself, but the last time I slow danced with someone of the opposite sex, it was at an LGBTQ organization, and we took each other's so-called roles. We stepped on each other's feet a lot, but it was also great fun.
I agree, which is why I put the labels in quotes, as they're the mainstream way of seeing them (for now!). x)
Added note - My Simself is a lesbian as I would otherwise get too distracted with interactions with any male Sims I'd pair up with. x_x #MakingOutAndWooHooingMakeSimDaysGoByTooFast
