Well, it's not exactly accurate to say that friezes create half-floors, though that is a common use for them. Rather, friezes are foundations built above ground level, and they act just like foundations. You can CFE them full-height and connect them to walls, you can hollow them out just like a dug-out basement, and you can build them up just like a regular floor to 5 high.
Which is what I did, I put a foundation around the outsides, then I put friezes one floor up around the outsides, and then another and another. The only real difficulty I had with them is half the time they wanted to place on the floor below where I wanted them, and then half the time they wanted to place a floor above. Getting them to place properly on the floor I was on was a trick that never seemed to work the same way twice! lol
Anyway, as friezes are only... what like 4 per block instead of 70 for a single wall, you can build HUGE castles for relatively little. If I get around to it, maybe I'll make a short tutorial video :)
