I don't really have any issues with Origin or the 1.69 patch. I wasn't thrilled to have to launch Origin now to play TS3...but it only takes a few seconds and TS3 launcher comes up, and ready to play. I only bought Supernatural and Into the future as digital download...everything else I have a disc for or bought from the sims store. When i decided to come back to TS3 (cause TS4 is just awful)... I got everything loaded up, went over to NRaas and got my updated mods for 1.69 patch, then went to Mod the sims and got some updated Mods there as well.. and started the game. I'm not having any issues (knock on wood) and have really been enjoying the game.
I feel the frustration of the OP...I do. I get it.... you paid for one thing and got a little more than what you wanted. I wasn't happy to have to launch Origin first either....but as long as EA / Maxis / Origin is running the Sims show.... we are kinda at their mercy for what happens here on out. I think I'm just going to enjoy the game for as long as I can play it....cause honestly.... with the Way EA is handling TS4....I think it's gonna be another SimsCity 2013 fiasco...and we might not see another incarnation of this game again.
right they are running the show & we are at their mercy. Somehow I don't think this is how electronic game publishers were intended
to take control of the game players. Playing games with all it entails should be fun.
But there are so many things about this whole experience, that just isn't.
Even Sims 3 had big bugs, but the players found solutions, yet with this type of situation, players don't have options, if they want to play
they have to bow down.
I don't recall selling my soul just for purchasing a game. When I look at all that is happening concerning the Sims series, all I can do is
shake my head because many things are unethical for a business & more.
I don't want to get on my soapbox again, but just left a thread where they are talking about relationship culling in Sims 4, and my mind
was just going over all the times players have been in that type of situation; where the game was doing something, there was a bug, or whatever and they keep saying hope they fix it. Yet their pattern has been not to fix it.
What does this have to do with my current situation ? EA wants things their way at the expense of the player. Not going there.
I just wanted to find a fun game to play & feels like I ended up in a hornets nest.
So I'm going to do just what tyou said, play Sims 3 as long as I can, until EA slams the door in our face, because they're closing it slowly, and in spare time look for something else to do.
