I had this same experience when I purchased the stuff pack Sims 3 Outdoor Stuff. Surprise, we didn't tell you before but until you upgrade your game you cannot install this pack.
Well, I got on a live chat, told them exactly what I wanted and got an immediate refund, no questions asked.
You should try it.
I really appreciate your thoughtfulness in offering me a solution, but after hours of deep thought I decided to keep the game installed on the other computer & purchase the disks to install them on this computer.
This computer is the one I play Sims 3 on more than the other. The other has Sims 4 installed.
I don't care so much if I can't play Sims 4 as I do if I can't play Sims 3.
I have most if not all of Sims 3 on disk as well as I've purchased through Origin. That's how much I really like the game.
And I will do it again one last time.
Then I will purchase the latest game for Sims 4, and I am finished. It's been 7 yrs of rollercoaster rides. Its enough.
