EA you are violating your own terms
If you have not updated your game past 1.67 don't buy anymore stuff packs or sets for Sims 3. EA is forcing update if you do. I bought 2 stuff packs and was not able to install them unless I updated...

An all disc install with no Origin presence will still work, but you do have to remind the installer during the process that you do not want Origin (or its predecessor, the EA Download Manager) but thanks anyway. Origin is required to purchase EA Store Points now as well as some other store content like worlds, but has no part in their installation once you own them. They still get downloaded from the TS3 site and installed through the Launcher with or without an Origin and 1.69 presence.
Or to put it another way, even if you had Origin installed for some other purpose and needed to use it to purchase points or a store world, Origin is not involved in the redemption of points nor a store world's download and install, and 1.69 is not required.
