EA you are violating your own terms
If you have not updated your game past 1.67 don't buy anymore stuff packs or sets for Sims 3. EA is forcing update if you do. I bought 2 stuff packs and was not able to install them unless I updated...

I don't see why (4) is necessary. Instead, I would install each of the EP/SPs and then run the Superpatcher again at the very end. I would also test the game with one launch after (2) just to make sure the base game only is working rather than waiting just in case something goes wrong near the beginning.
