I don't understand why everyone hates patch 1.69. The game works fine for me so I don't have a problem with that patch and I actually like that you can select which packs to play, sometimes I don't feel like playing with pets for example.
It doesn't work nicely for everyone. Some people are simply not able to play at all and others have other constant issues that finally drives them away from the Origin version of the game. Some of those go a buy replacements from Steam and others just give up on playing the game altogether.
@SPARKY1922 you have to actually physically put the patches into your new Downloads folder now. The ContentPatch folder is there, but it is now empty by default and stays that way. Previously, when you downloaded something from your purchase history or from the store you got a message telling you you need to patch and you could either agree or not to have the patch downloaded. Now, since they fixed the store content you don't get that message any more, so unless you put the store patches in manually you don't get them when you set up a new Sims 3 folder. You need to copy them from an old Sims 3 folder. I don't know if they are available for download from the Tech forum as I've never looked for them there.
