@SPARKY1922 the Super Patch, or Patch 1.67 has nothing to do with the ContentPatches that I was talking about. The content patches are for store content to make sure it is compatible with the game. The SuperPatch patches the game. You need to do both.
The ContentPatch folder will be inside your The Sims 3 folder.
If you click it open you should find a Download folder as well as two files. The two files are. 1. ContentPatch.package 2. DontBugMeUntilNextPatch
The second file is to stop it asking you to patch every single time you add something to the game. You probably don't need it now since they have done away with the content patches.
Inside the Download folder you should find 8 more files. They all have the same prefix followed by consecutive numbers from 0 to 7.
The first one is named: ContentPatch_0000.part
The final 0 is replaced with the numbers from 1 for 7 for each of the other files.
If you haven't copied these files into your new Sims 3 folder then the ContentPatch folder will just have an empty Download folder in it and the other two files will be missing too.
I suspect the store content that you download now doesn't need the content patches because it seems to have already been updated by EA to not need the content patches.
BUT it seems to me, if you want to use your previously downloaded and backed up store content from before they updated it to not need the patch, you will need the content patches in your Sims 3 folder.
I've got a mixture of both - old backed up store content and recently downloaded store content and I have the content patches and it all works fine for me. That's about all I can say about it as I've not read any official notification from EA to say what they've done or how it works. It is all I can come up with as a possible explanation why you needed to download your store content again after starting a new sims 3 folder without the content patches in it.
I've never noticed a problem because I put the content patches into my Sims 3 folder. But I did experiment with not putting them in when I downloaded my fresh store content and it all installed and I have a totally disk game and no connection to Origin (Origin has never been installed on this computer).
