EA you are violating your own terms
If you have not updated your game past 1.67 don't buy anymore stuff packs or sets for Sims 3. EA is forcing update if you do. I bought 2 stuff packs and was not able to install them unless I updated...

I wasn't saying that they didn't re-release the base game disc in 2012 with altered installation mechanisms. That's exactly what they did. I was saying that the disc you now have in your hands with the 2012 files on it could not have been manufactured in 2009. Guess we end up in the same place regardless, this is an Origin and now Patch 1.69 required install disc. Those that were made earlier on are not.
Origin as we know it today did not exist in 2009, it was launched a couple of years later. There were other authorized digital install mechanisms prior to this that are now no longer available for purchase; my digital game came from GamersGate originally and had its own installers as did those who purchased digitally from Amazon back then. And I am sure there were ways to purchase digital installs directly from EA at the time.
