EA you are violating your own terms
If you have not updated your game past 1.67 don't buy anymore stuff packs or sets for Sims 3. EA is forcing update if you do. I bought 2 stuff packs and was not able to install them unless I updated...

Would this be a good time to mention the Steam alternative? I may be "married" to Steam now rather than to Origin, but it's a pretty lightweight relationship that stays out of the way most of the time and lets me stay on Patch 1.67. There is no 1.69 for Steam installs and I can start the game directly through a shortcut to TS3w.exe without any client program tie-ins or needing the Launcher unless I want it for some other reason.
But that does require repurchasing the entire game, base plus all of the EP/SPs one wants, through Steam and re-downloading but not repurchasing all of one's store content and worlds. Last year's summer sale was fantastic and I got the whole thing for less than $100 USD (bye-bye to Origin after a year of putting up with that annoyance), this year the summer sale isn't as good but it runs until July 5 and is still a bargain for many players.
