EA you are violating your own terms
If you have not updated your game past 1.67 don't buy anymore stuff packs or sets for Sims 3. EA is forcing update if you do. I bought 2 stuff packs and was not able to install them unless I updated...

the only reason I went the disc route is because I doubt i would ever trust anything like origin again and i had several expansion discs i had already bought mixed in with what can be considered the digital version of the game and they installed fine after installing the pre 2012 base game disc so if you have all your discs you may be able to install them again after you install the pre 2012 base game? This would only cost you the price of the base game to start over.. Then if you own a lot of the store content you can follow the Method outlined on this thread to download it to your disc game and start playing again although I would suggest you uninstall origin first and turn off the internet when you do this? As @Karritz mentions above she had a mix of discs and digital games but has manged to make that work and keep all her store content as well.. I am sure she would help explain how to do it.. I do believe as @igazor points out steam appears to be the best of the 2 options if you wanted to stay digital..
