Tiberium

My sim in the Science career got an opportunity to collect some tiberium and take it to work. The task is called "What is this ... Tiberium?" This is a gemstone found in Al Simhara. My sim successfully collected one and one spare and brought them back, but now I have been reading online that it can be poisonous if kept in the inventory, grows if placed on the lot ...

What happens if it is stored in a chest? Is the poisoning and growing true? Should my sim get rid of the spare?

The description on it when hovering over it says something about the 'potentially dangerous side effects', however my sim who carried it home didn't experience anything or any moodlet from it.

  • Can it be mailed out for "Refinement"?

(Maybe that would stop that radiation and growing process of a raw gemstone... ?)

  • Ok, you ACTUALLY got me curious about it and I went looking.

Get the "SIMMUNITY" Lifetime Happiness Reward as soon as possible! (7,500 points)

Then your Sims will be able to carry it in Inventory, without any ill effects!

  • DivinylsFan  They get a sickness moodlet that should expire but sometimes gets stuck.  You can of course cheat it away.

If you leave the tiberium in inventory, I believe nothing happens, at least not for a while.  If you leave it out, the rock will turn into a spire that's much more valuable.  You can also cut it with the gem cutter (Supernatural) to get a spire and some tiberium dust that will apparently also grow into a spire.  I haven't done this because it's already way too overpowered—I don't want my sims earning §40k from one rock, let alone double that from cutting it.
