I have a sim that was friends with a guy in high school and I've just been waiting on him aging up to see if they'd be compatible as Young Adults. But he's been a teen for forever now. I finally check...

The outfits they are currently assigned need to be changed or re-rolled for the next age stage. If any of them have "bad" assignments or or are are using "bad" CAS parts, they can get stuck and the age-up process refuses to happen. Usually we hope to get an ErrorTrap log when this happens that explains (in code) what's gone wrong, but not always.
That makes sense. I have a pair of CC riding boots that the creator by mistake have assigned for both adult and child. Maybe I should fix that...
