Got a math question a couple of really fun riddles for you guys. It's not very probable, but suppose you have flipped a (proper, not a trick) coin and got heads 30 times in a row. What are the odds that the 31st flip will be heads?
Or suppose the numbers 1-2-3-4-5 came up as winners in the lotto. What are the odds that the exact same numbers will come up again the next day?
Answer: the same as the first time, in both cases. That's how the dice rolls on elders at or beyond their life expectancy work. There are always elements of uncertainty unless a mod is used to put an absolute limit to their age span. The jogging challenge and the Vegetarian trait add bonuses to the dice rolls skewing them a bit, but those don't always translate into extra sim days.
The lifespan (non-occult) in my game is 242 sim days. I've had elders make it into the 290s occasionally, I think the record was an inactive I never paid much attention to who made it to 303.
