Game Crashing after 5 minutes of gameplay (real time) - screen frozen, clock stopped, sims frozen...

Have to go to CTRL-ALT-DEL to Task Manager and shut process down...and this is happening quite often now. I'm figuring that the R5 Integrated Chip is on its way out. EPs (only EP that I don't have ...

Quick question: Is it supposed to be showing the ITF loading screen if I have NO EPs selected? Just renamed my game folder and set is as *The Sims 3_backup and started a clean generating game folder by starting The Sims 3. In my last "Clean Start" It reverted to base game opening screen? So slightly confused here.
