Gameplay lag and screen tearing!
Hi there everyone!
PC SPECS:
OS: Windows 10 Home
SPACE: 255GB SSD+1TB HDD
RAM: 8GB DDR4 (will prob upgrade once the current pandemic is over)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3550H (2,1/3,7 GHz, 4 cores 8 threads)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (3GB)
I've had the sims 3 on my new laptop for about less than 2 weeks. Played the game about 4times since life is busy for me rn. What I have noticed so far while ingame is the annoying eye-cathcing screen-tearing line that shows up everytime I move the camera and the lag that basically makes the game unplayable for me. And I've done things to help my game 'run better', but so far it isn't. To try and get rid of the screen tearing I turned on vsync and tripple buffering. Vsync via NVIDIA Control Panel didn't work, nor did it cap my frames so I got NVIDIA Inspector and did the same thing there. This time it did cap my frame but screen tearing is still there.
For the lag, hmm, well first things first NRAAS mods ofc are smth I've grown to learn over the years I've been playing sims 3 and they are a must for me so I have those, I have disabled the feature items folder and deleted everythign in there. I clean the cache files daily, my game is on the SSD, loads super quick (2mins), world also loads at the same speed, CAS is quite perfect, build mode is also quite perfect. I would be happy if live mode was decent, but as of rn it's unplayable to me. Sims walk backwards all the time, x1 speed has a bit of lag but it is absolutely there, x2 speed unplayable, time gets stuck, x3 oh hi there lag! x4 is basically x1 with a lot of lag.
Also, yes my pc does recognise my card, I've done the steps for it too, also done more stuff suggested for preventing lag. I am playing on a costum world, Legacy Island II by Rflong. My setting are a mix of high and medium excluding sims texture which is very high, and I have disabled things I don't need. I play at fullscreen, refresh rate is capped at 60Hz, and ye.
Right now this game is running worse on this pc than it did on my old worse pc when my family was at 40sims not including all the townies I never touched. I really hope I can fix this game, since it is my fave but it is unplayable like this.
Also let me know how much of my DxDiag I should post, if you need it.
