I also am on Windows 10 and Sims plays mostly fine for me. Sometimes it gets laggy, and it is slow to load, but I pin that on my vast number of custom content items I have. I have a good processor and a great video card. But overall, it works great and I have the mods installed and they work as well. They definitely make life easier even though I still don't understand them all. Good luck when you do finally get to be able to play!
