Getting twins without the Fertility Treatment reward?

Does anyone know if our sims can have twins without buying the Fertility Treatment lifetime reward? I try not to buy it because than if my sims have babies, they always pop out twins or triplets and w...

I had two different sim familys that both had twins with no help from anything. Glad they didn't have the fertility thing - what am I gonna do with three kids? It's not like the old game play where they could move out and you could play them - or have I missed something?
