Harvest Moon's training was not Katie's only task, though. She had three adult horses and one foal to look after and keep fed, groomed and mucked out. Some tasks were more fun than others.
And in the evenings there was Bill.
After one particularly enjoyable evening, Katie invited him over; of course he first had to make a fuss over the horses. (See why she loves him?) Autumn Leaves had to inspect him first, of course.
After Bill left, there was a much less welcome visitor. Katie kept her cool and after dialing 911 repeatedly challenged the burglar to a water balloon fight until the police arrived. Then the invader was forced to climb down the ladder in handcuffs. (Something to consider before becoming a thief!)
The next day Katie had big plans, and between those and the alarm of the night before, had to repeatedly build up her nerve. To try and distract herself, she carved a pumpkin.
She also wrote Bill a love letter, although that didn't really take her mind off the approaching evening.
That night Sundance discussed the jack o'lantern with the cat, while a zombie snoozed nearby.
Shortly after the pretty filly became a beautiful mare.
Inside Katie didn't notice. She was preoccupied with the evening's plans, starting with having Bill over for dinner . . .
. . . then proposing to him . . .
then a quick, very private, wedding.
Both Bill and his beautiful silver Wolfe were now part of the family!
