Yes, this colt was exactly what I'd been hoping for, an actual mix of both parents' coloring. Pity he came so early in the challenge, since color-wise and story-wise he'd have been a perfect one to keep as a replacement.

I got a bit stuck with poor Wolfe, since it was entirely too callous for Bill to say, 'Okay, I'm now part of my wife's 50-foal challenge, so let me just sell my beloved horse so we can get a new mare,' but then I realized I'd built the answer in to the original story. Besides, now they've got even better motivation to spread those resistant genes around.
