Snow was always a delight to the horses. Rolling in it, racing in it, or just socializing while the flakes drifted around them were favorite pastimes. Watching the humans enjoying the snow was also fun. Why the frustration about eagles was a bit mysterious, though.
Certain individuals did not approve of the snow, however. Since Autumn Leaves had died in it, perhaps that only made sense.
Mare number ten was purchased. To mark the milestone in her project, Katie decided to get a special mare, and to surprise Bill, she selected a Fjord. Unlike Wolfe, this one was the standard brown dun, although darker in shade than many. Her name was Henrietta. Bill was delighted.
Meanwhile Electrum continued to court Honeysuckle, who was gradually becoming less ornery toward him, at least.
Kevin rode Badger downtown to check out the new pet store. An animal lover to the core, he delighted in the animals displayed and closely inspected the various cage features.
A new Sgnoman turned up overnight, and the whole family spent Snow Day at the festival.
Bill was still stalking the wild paint mare. She was gradually becoming less shy, especially when the liver mare was not around. He had named her Annie.
By the time Bill was able to whisper Annie's name in her ear, Tarnish had grown into a surprisingly slim mare. Clearly she hadn't inherited much of her dam's draft build.
