Soon after she staggered home to fall into her own bed, leaving a curious Simbot named Marcie to investigate the Art Center and then come home to join the family herself.
While Marcie got settled in, the teenagers were out shopping, looking for just the right outfits for prom, which was coming up fast! The simbot quickly learned to care for the horses, and Adam was particularly entranced by the metal human. There was exciting news from the science center as well, for a vaccine was now available to protect against trypanosomiasis. Katie wondered what that would do to the availability of mares for Electrum. She didn't have to wonder long; she got a letter from the Lucky Palms tourist bureau, inviting her to bring her stallion out there and establish a colony of striped horses. Priding themselves on being flashy but not gaudy, the bureau thought striped horses might make popular attractions in their riding stables and as parade and carriage horses for special events. Katie and Everett decided that as soon as prom was done and Elayna grown, they would sell off their current farm and move out of state to Lucky Palms.
