Over the weekend, Marcie woke with the strange sensation of being watched. Looking out the window, she saw an alien staring back at her. Realizing he'd been spotted, he fled - on a bicycle. (No cars allowed on campus except moving trucks, and this apparently applied to aliens as well.) Eventually he abandoned the bike in a bush and fled down a footpath until Marcie lost him.
On Monday classes resumed, and Marcie worked hard on her presentations the following day. She faced a slight handicap in that a lot of people seemed offended or even disgusted by her metal form, which she couldn't figure out. This was not at all a problem at the comic store, where the self-declared nerds found her fascinating. She had a different professor this time, one who was not a vampire. His lectures were more interesting but more people dared to sleep!
And then came the exams, which Marcie dashed through, achieving her dream of perfect GPA and graduating with a technology degree! But she was unable to rent robes, because they were afraid she might smoke them up or even burn them with her exhaust pipes. :s So she graduated naked, as usual.
Although Katie was her creator, Elliot seemed to take the most interest in Marcie, and called her at least twice a week while she was at college. He was the one who told her about the wild horse herd, and the palomino unicorn who claimed the local desert as his own. Elayna sold on the day before Marcie's exams. Everett texted her a last photo, before the mare left for a respectable $12,326.
Time to pack up and go home!
