Glitched Detective Career Case

One of my Sims just became a Detective. His first case was one about finding out who had used someone else's toothbrush. I had one other Sim that was a Detective and he got this one a bunch of times and it always ended up being a kids trick one. Anyways, I guess some of the careers from the Ambitions expansion pack are known to have a few little bugs.Well, I think I found one the other day because the client of the case was that Sims sister's Imaginary Friend. The first step of the case was to check in with the client about the case. I wasn't sure how that was going to work with it being the sister's Imaginary Friend since only she can see it. But, I decided to see if it would work and told him to check in with Hesper the sister's Imaginary Friend. He was active following the sister around and I guess even though he couldn't see it he seemed know it was there somewhere and would try to follow it a short ways and then it would just keep canceling it out to check in with him to do that detective case. So, I decided I must have gotten a glitched one and just canceled that case and waited for a new one.

    @Simmer2500 the time it takes to find the potion to make the imaginary friend real varies. The sim needs logic of 8 to be able to get the potion, but some sims take sim days to get the potion and others just breeze through the process. I hold fast to the theory that whatever potion you want your sim to find it'll be the last on in a long list of potions they discover. At least they won't have many more to find once they make it. :smile:

    Yeah, I guess when they are just starting out on a skill and you are trying to get to certain level like 8 to find that potion it seems like a lot of skill level to get to. That's true though it varies how fast or not they get to that skill level and discover that potion for making the Imaginary Friends real.

    Maybe his sister could have tried to make her imaginary friend real and the case could possibly have continued?

    I usually leave this career to sims that don't live in my active households. They seem to get to level 10 in it very quickly. Same with Ghost Hunter career.

    Yeah, probably or if he had one which he doesn't then it might have worked since if it was his Imaginary Friend then he could see it and probably could have completed the case. I still haven't had my Sims do the chemistry table quite enough to make the potion for making the Imaginary Friends real yet. Since that Sims sister doesn't have very much logic skill yet it probably would have taken longer than I wanted to have him complete the case that way though. I noticed that too that my self-employed inventor Sim's inventing skill went up by one I think it was while inactive. I guess that has more to do with story progression than the fact that there was no scrap left in the inventing table to do anymore inventing. But, there was also a couple or few things that he had invented that were still in his inventory before I had switched households and they were gone out of his inventory after I switched back to his house, so maybe the game also decided to sell those out of his inventory while I was playing the another household.
