What I personally do with TSR is go to the Featured Artists page and go through the user content on there. If an artist is featured you can be fairly sure that their downloads are good quality. Additionally, you don't have to surf through the entire site because Featured Artists usually has all types of creators there with items ranging from houses, makeup, hair, clothing, etc.
Also: TSR isn't really any more dangerous to download from than any other custom content website. As long as you have good virus protection you should be fine.

Only with skysims that's not true. Their hair always looks like garbage.
Actually I have a couple of hairs from skysims that look awesome in game. Beauty in one eye can be a beast in another. That is why their are choices in life. Your comment is just mean.
The hair floats. Like, floating, leaning on nothing but air. That doesn't look good.
