Hasn't the 64 bit metal version of the sims 3 been yet?

Is anyone playing the 64 bit version and how is it?? I'm curious because I have an older macbook pro (2008) using El Capitan and I'm not sure if I should download the new 64 bit version since I think my system runs on a 32 bit overall. I would love if my game ran faster since it sounds like the 64 bit is configured for Mac while the older version was like a PC version that was Mac-compatible. Would love to know if there's anyone running the 64 bit version on an older Mac system.
