I have done the in-game move, both with and without Traveler. It has always worked pretty well for me, either way. But I did learn early on that I should pack anything I wanted to keep in my sims' household inventory, because even if I selected for them to pack their furniture, certain things would always be left behind. Fitness equipment never got transported unless I packed it myself. But then I also discovered that if I chose to sell the furniture, after packing everything I wanted, everything I had packed disappeared from the household inventory too. That was before Traveler though.
The one big advantage to moving in-game with Traveler installed is that if you want to edit the the world, you can do that beforehand, save your edited world, and copy the nhd file from that save to your current save. Otherwise, the game will move you to a fresh copy of the world in its original state, without even any EP community lots installed, even if you put the nhd for an edited version in your current save folder.
