I can vouch for the large dog issue and bathtubs, as it happens to me, I keep the bathtub in my family inventory for when I need it and replace the tubs with showers, or I adopt small dogs.
As for not using mods, I was the same as you.I was afraid I'd break my game not knowing what I'm doing.But I can't play my game without overwatch in my game.
