How do you manage your sims' outfits?

Honestly, my Sims wear the same.outfit throughout a lifestage unless I get new stuff. Otherwise it's the same few outfits for a while . Despite taking off said clothes and doing laundry . You have entered the twilight zone ... do do do do ,do do do do ... >:)
