I'm not sure the answer I chose was actually the right one. I make outfits for the seasons, one for summer, one for winter, and one for spring and fall. Then they wear whichever one fits the time of year they're in. I only change them when they age up, if I get tired of them, or on rare occasions, if the outfit is glitched. And yes, that does happen with store clothing, not just CC. I'm playing an epic lifespan right now, so I might change my sims' outfits before they age up, but I really like what they're wearing, so I might not. I do usually give adults a new wardrobe and hairstyle too, instead of making them keep the same ones they had as young adults.
