How does the Lifetime Wish Distinguished Director works if i have celebrity disabled?

I've read in Carl guide that the Distinguished Director carrer needs celebrity points for promotions. I have celebrity disabled in my game mostly because of the immense quantity of expensive presents ...

Celebrity is a job metric but you can strategically rise to the top of a job without completing a requirement. Max out the other requirements (Mood and Writing), befriend your boss for promotions, and pick up the Workaholic trait for working at home.
