I recently installed Island Paradise, and am trying to build a deck leading to a smaller deck via a small set of stairs in the ocean. I am on a lot that is partially in water, partially on land. Basically, I want to build it just like it is in the picture I provided. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/katiewashere2/20180107_002609_zpsduspsf7m.jpg Is there some sort of cheat I'm not aware of? I built the foundations for the 2 decks, but when I try to build stairs going down to the smaller deck, the game says the stairs must be built on land. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Oh i remember doing that...now let me think...I don't think there's a cheat you need if I remember correctly you just need the 2 decks to be close enough for the stairs to land, you also need to make sure the decks are even once at the height you want. I know my explanation probably is confusing but if you go to the free resort in isla paradiso is has little cabins on the water with the low deck you might be able to take a look at those and figure it out if my explanation doesn't help

Ok, I did it exactly as it says in the tutorial, and I was able to built exactly 4 steps, but when I tried to a 2nd set leading off from the base of the first set, it says "Can't place underwater" even though the placement of the stairs is 8 squares away from the water, or it says "Can't level terrain". I also tried it with the constrainfloorelevation false cheat and still nothing.

Could you tell us what world and what lot are you trying to do this on?

As far as the can't place under water thing, try starting your first deck up higher on the lot, I think once you get the layout you like you can delete some of it. Also, I always level the terrain clear to the water after setting the second set of stairs then placing the deck. Then you can soften or shape the terrain when you want to. Hope this helps!

For some reason when I click on the 'Image' box and enter all the links for the pic on my Photobucket account, nothing happens! Too bad I can't just upload from my computer like normal.

You might want to try another photo sharing site since PhotoBucket doesn't allow 3rd party sharing unless you pay them $400 per year. I use imgur for my photos. Some use flickr to share as well... :)
