@CreativeMom88 Most machinima makers don't use the ingame video recorder. There are lots of alternatives around. A lot of us use OBS. It's free and it doesn't cause as much lagging in the game as others. You can also choose what format you want your video to be. I use mp4.
There is a video section up in the Sims 4 creative corner that has a lot of information about what programs people use in Sims 3 and Sims 4 too. I'm still creating. If you have any questions feel free to DM me. This thread might get closed because it's so old.
