How to stop "freaking out"
My sim keeps waking up every hour or so (in game time) to "freak out." Is there a way to stop this?

The teleporter is a great example—they get home, it's sitting on the lawn, and they take a moment to yell about it before moving on to whatever they were supposed to do. If there's nothing broken nearby, is it possible you moved a broken object out of the bedroom recently? Or that it's in the room next door, and the meticulously programmed game is neglecting to recognize the wall?
