I do this all the time, have been for years, and it does seem to help. On my head when it's not working right I mean, not on poor defenseless computers. Hang on, are you saying the proper technique for fixing computer issues is to smack a person upside the head with a hammer, not the computer itself? I guess I've been doing it wrong this whole time.
Also, using a hammer rather than my hand would really save me some significant wear and tear.
