I Need More Teens&Children

So I know this is a pretty common issue after a long save, but my town doesn't have nearly enough teens or children, and half of the ones it does are cousins of my current house.
I was trying to see in nraas SP if there was a setting to guarantee that the immigrants have children, but whenever I do rapid immigration it always is just single sims and that is not what I need.
And I am far too lazy to make sims to add in :p

Any ideas?

  • Hmm. There aren't a whole lot of SP options that govern this exactly, but I think the goal here might be to get incoming households to favor those with at least some couples who might want to have kids or adopt. To speed things up a bit, you could force the adoptions on them with MC after they arrive.

    NRaas > SP > General Options > Options:Lots > Options:Immigration/Emigration > Immigrate Single Sim Chance > 0 (or closer to that, default is 25)

(same menu) > Chance of Immigrant Friends > 0 (or closer to that, default is 10, this would be households of single friends moving into town together)

But you must also make sure that your available houses have double beds for the couples. Single beds in addition should favor children and teens showing up, cribs of course for toddlers. Already so?

Why not play other households for a while and make them have children? Or you could create "neighbour couples" in CAS and give them children. That's what I do, and then I have some control over their DNA.
  • I don't usually have to worry about this with playing Sims 2 style rotational play using the NRaas Mod version of story progression along with the rest of the NRaas Mod file collection because I have it configured for story progression to be mostly in manual mode.It means that couples who are able to start bearing children will amost always start having babies and it still happens even in a long term save.
  • Maybe I'm missing something, but can't you just, you know, get a few couples pregnant directly? NRaas > MC > Sim > Intermediate > Partner Pollinate does the trick for me, especially when I'm playing on a normal lifespan and don't feel like waiting for the townies to take care of things on their own. Plus, if you're picky about other sims' looks, you get to pick who contributes to the gene pool for the next generation.

Or if you're even more impatient than I am, you could use MC > Intermediate > Instant Baby on whichever unsuspecting sims you want to inflict a screaming infant on you think are ready to be good parents.
