There may be a browser cache thing going on if logging in doesn't reveal the Reply buttons on a thread that is not locked up or undergoing some kind of maintenance. In the future though, perhaps try clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser? Or not using a Private Browser window feature, if you usually do so?
I always log in when I'm over there though, it happens automatically when things are working correctly. I mean, it's the same EA as here except more of a tech/game support forum board than one for community discussions about our games. Even if one stresses privacy, it doesn't seem that different to me than being and staying logged in on any other EA-run system.
