So far I placed a hospital and a town hall across from it out on the little square island. I put a fire station on that community lot in the corner across from that large lot in the cement area. I've used Waylon's Haunt and Mikes corner store from LN and managed to get a school with a fenced playground, a criminal building, a theater and the police all in the cement area. I've used the most run down looking of each of these I can find. I'm not sure if I'll put any more community lots.....those are the basics. I might build a pier over in the waterfront area for the science building. I'll need some of Sue's build items when I start on homes.
