Into The Future Issue - Pioneer of Plumbotics

Question

So I'm trying to make my character achieve this goal, but it doesn't seem to be working. I feel like I've tried everything. I had my sim get to the top of their bot building career with top bot building and advanced technology. I then had them go to the present (because they were living in the future) so I could work on this achievement. These are the things I've tried:

1. I had a bot living in the present already, so I made it future tech and added sentience; nothing.
2. I made another bot in the present and made it future tech, then added sentience; nothing.
3. I made an additional bot and added sentience after reaching high tech (because I read another simmer got it to work this way).

With both bots from 2 and 3, I went to the future just in case; nothing changed.

4. I went back to the present, then upgraded the high tech bot that had sentience to future tech. Went back to the future; nothing.

5. I removed both chips from both bots in the present, then in the present I made another bot. This one came out future tech right away. I added sentience to it; nothing. I went to the future with it; nothing.

So I don't know what I'm doing wrong, or if I am even doing anything wrong at all, but nothing is working and it's making me sad. :'(

I've never tried to get any of the Legacy Statues but I did read a few people chatting about them recently and they seemed to be saying that they are bugged and don't seem to be achievable now.

Got back into playing the game just today and found out what my issue was. My sim is a teen. I forgot that some things aren't available until a certain age. So I aged my sim up, then added the sentience trait and instantly got the pioneer reward. then i de-aged her back to teen and i still have it. problem solved.  ;)

I have succeeded with two of them, the plumbotics one and the time changer one.  There haven't been any updates since that, so at least some of them work, some of the time.  Or it could be one of the NRaas mods fixing it.  My sim used the time remote control LTR for the time changer one.  I didn't even know that would get her the statue.  I just wanted her to get to the the dystopian and utopian futures to catch the fish and insects, but I didn't want to do the opportunity chain to get her there.  I had tried that one with a previous sim, and she lost friends over asking them to leave trash around.  So I'm not going to do that again.
