Is building one of your favorite things to do in The Sims 3?

I find building to be really frustrating given how laggy it is, especially when you start to use create-a-style to match textures and colours. I've also found that there's so much in the way of elaborate tricks like the constrainfloorelevantion tricks that makes it way too out of reach for me to make things that look good. I stick with exchange downloads and whatever is in the world/stock library.
