Is that normal to have a few lag in build/buy mod with Geforece GTX 1080 Ti?

I've been building a world without my mods and store content folders in the game and I still have issues when it comes to Build Mode. Especially when using CAS to recolor things. It's ok for a little while but after a time it just stops working with other parts of the UI messing up, like using the mouse wheel to turn the camera, among other things.

So, I have come to the conclusion that this is a "game" thing, not a custom/store content issue. It pretty much runs the same whether I have my mods/store content folders in the game or out of the game.
