Is the exchange safe? What about The Sims Resource? What are some good cc sites?

So I heard that the Sims 3 exchange is the worst place to download from. But I really like the clothes,hair,etc.I don't download lots or Sims, because that is bad and i know that. But how bout the clo...

I've been using TSR since getting Sims 3 in December and haven't had any problems. I also use modthesims and http://simshairs.com/ for hair.

I don't trust the Exchange. I downloaded some sims and ended up with some very sketchy content.

I also check all sims3pack files with CUSTARD and used Dashboard after installing package files.
