I use the exchange, modthesims, and tsr. Sometimes I use my sims 3 blog but lately I've been using Tumblr and looking at all the simblr's and the stuff they created.
I highly recommend Tumblr, even if you don't want to make an account. Just look in the tags and stuff for simblrs and cc finds. I love andromeda's sims. :3
I love to download from tsr and never had a problem with bad cc there but every time I download the cc through the dashboard, my download freezes then I just give up or try again later until it finally works. So I've taken a break from the tsr.
I occasionally download from mod the sims, and never had a problem with bad cc there.
I don't really recommend the exchange because people are right, you usually get ugly glitches in game when you download stuff from there. Like naked sims and your babies turning into sticks. xD
As for the my sims 3 blog, I rarely go there (it hasn't been updated in a while which is one of the reasons why I don't go back) but mostly because the stuff their hasn't interested me lately?

I think you're being a little ridiculous. The sims resource has always been great for me to download stuff but I guess you could be right too. I do feel like tsr probably has some viruses on it but if it did why do people still go back there and why do artist go back there to upload their creations?
Like I said before, try Tumblr. Lots of cute cc there.
