"Multitasking is not all it's cracked up to be in the Sims 4. There are very few things that they're actually multitasking -- watching TV and running on a treadmill is the only one I can think of, really. Everything else, they're alternating between things. If you try to paint, write, eat, drink while talking, for instance, it will take 3-4x as long as it does when your sim just first eats, then goes and has a conversation. Same with a game of chess -- while your sim can talk, they will either be playing OR talking -- not doing both."
4 definitely nees some serious upgrading in these areas before I'll even consider buying an expansion pack for it...
