There's all kinds of reasons one might want to cheat money away. For example, very often I see the houses of my sims' friends or neighbors need some things that they cannot purchase for themselves like furniture, appliances, items for kids or pets. I'll use testingcheatsenabled to Build/Buy for them, but then my active household gets charged. The Family Funds MC mod command allows me to settle up when finished.
Or the active household, through a bug in the game, might receive funds for selling something huge like a car that they never really owned so an adjustment is in order.
I can't really think of many instances where ctrl-z actually undoes anything in TS3, at least not in Live Mode. :)
