@Nikkei_Simmer please don't run away with the idea I am a negative nancy. I think we should be coming up with new ideas for EPs or how best existing packs could be revamped as part of a potential upgrade. With the proper rewriting the possibilities are endless. One thing makes me hesitate though (and this you might perceive as the negative bit) and that is the reason why people pick this game to play rather than the plethora of survival games which already exist. Nothing truly awful happens in this game unless you mod it in or you let your sim swim in shark infested waters in IP :D
For the same reasons we don't have sims who look realistically human the game has been deliberately engineered not to scare the plum out of the players. Also I suspect it has something to do with the PEGI rating. Just as the sim visuals need to be reconsidered as part of a potential upgrade then the PEGI rating might need to be revisited. This might open the door to the less salubrious side of simming. I also wonder if it would go far enough to satisfy those who want a more realistic type of game. When I leave my sims game I want to feel the family are safe from really gruesome zombies. While I love the idea of a nuclear plant which would make a great new career, the thought of mass burials and decontamination procedures is very reminiscent of When the bomb drops which I saw as a teenager. It gave me nightmares for weeks. Anything too far in that direction would put me off buying the upgrade and I suspect I am not alone in thinking that.
