I am sorry to hear what happened to your TS3. I don't think there is a single player who has not come across a glitch or bug with the game. I play vanilla and am simply unable to use Isla Paradiso because a lot of the bugs in it were never sorted out. It all depends on how much you want to play the game again or if you have moved on to other things but it might be worth trying @JoAnne65 suggestion or seeking help from one of the sources mentioned by @igazor.
MOO does have a reputation for doing strange things to computers. I rarely use it as a result but recently had to in order to use the Castle Kit. The next time I used EIG to build I could not place a staircase. Not matter what I tried. You can imagine the language :)
As for Isla Paradiso vanilla, you might want to try
the adjustments Ellacharmed made. Apart from the ones you need CAW for, you can do them by yourself. I have and though there is more slight stuttering than in other worlds and I still do the occasional resetsim *, it's very playable that way.
